Sunday sermons preached at Saint Alban's Church are based on lectionary readings. A lectionary is a table of readings from Scripture appointed to be read at public worship. The Sunday Lectionary is a three-year cycle of readings in which Matthew, Mark, and Luke are read in successive years with the Gospel of Saint John included in each year. In addition to the Gospel the Sunday Lectionary includes a reading from the Old Testament, a Psalm, and an Epistle Reading. The lectionary allows a person to be systematically exposed to the depth and breadth of the Bible.
